Body | Lower Body Lift Following Bariatric Surgery |
After a successful weight loss following gastric bypass surgery people often find they are left with excess folds of skin that will not conform to their new body shape. This skin may not shrink once it has lost its elasticity, and surgery is the only way to reduce it. A lower body lift can reduce excess skin around the abdomen and buttocks, improving patient mobility and giving the lower body better shape. Depending on the patient’s condition, we may carry out abdominoplasty, belt lipectomy, liposuction, medial thigh lift, lateral thigh lift, or a combination of these procedures. If you are a bariatric surgery patient with excess skin on your lower body, a lower body lift might be the right procedure for you. This is extensive surgery and must be approached with caution.
These procedures carry significant risks and you are encouraged to discuss them with the plastic surgeon in detail before making any decisions. |
